I killed a fall turkey in West Virginia (2005). Three different people stepped the distance. I stepped 63 yards, a friend stepped 65 yards, and my uncle Garrett stepped 68 yards. The terrain is a little difficult to negotiate for an accurate distance measurement, but it was a 60+ yard shot. I sent the load of #2 Hevishot on it's way, and the bird just melted, nary a flop. I have no photo to go with the story, just wanted to share. Went out and bought 3 more boxes of Hevishot #2 12 gauge 3" to last me for a few years. 30 shots should equal 30 turkeys, I figure, if I can get them within about 65-70 yards.
